It is with immense pleasure that the editorial board of the journal presents our readers with an Oncology special issue in the Journal of Cutaneous and Aesthetic Surgery (JCAS). As our readers are aware, our journal covers topics in cutaneous and esthetic surgery, which include cutaneous surgical procedures, lasers, light-based treatments, along with other surgical and non-surgical esthetic treatments. Articles which address issues such as skin tumors, pigmentary disorders, histopathology, dermatoscopy and other diagnostic techniques, medical and surgical interventions, including pre- and post-procedural care, innovations, and other such topics that have a dermatosurgical/aesthetic intervention are considered for publication. For a journal like JCAS to publish, a complete issue dedicated to Oncology is a first of its kind. As the Editor in Chief, I am proud to have a dedicated and immensely talented editorial board and dedicated reviewers. Alongside them, the growth and success of JCAS are owed to its authors, the principal reason the journal has been able to bring such a rich and engaging clinical content for its readers globally, and contribute toward the dissemination of high-quality dermatosurgical/esthetic surgical content, which also extends to allied specialties such as plastic surgery, maxillofacial surgery, vascular surgery, and oculoplastic surgery.

In this Oncology special issue, we present 16 case reports, one correspondence, one letter, and a special article on practice points across various oncological topics. The cases discussed in this issue are not only engaging but also provide practicing cutaneous surgeons with insights to improve their observations and practices. This issue highlights rare clinical cases, including angiosarcoma of the scalp,1 two cases of vulvar angiomyxoma,2,3 syringocystadenoma papilliferum with tubular apocrine adenoma,4 and a case of Masson’s tumor.5 Apart from these, the issue also presents a variety of other cases, including an ear concha carcinoma and trichoblastic carcinoma.6-10 It also brings to you a case of malignant proliferating trichilemmal tumor and ionized plasma jet therapy for glans penis treatment.11,12 Further, the issue presents a case of rare palmar neurofibroma13 and a B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia.14 The discussion addresses two markedly contrasting cases of lymphangioma circumscriptum management.15,16 Finally, the issue presents three diagnostic dilemmas: Leiomyoma mimicking hypertrophic scar/keloid over the surgical incision site, facial pseudolymphoma, and squamous neoplasia.17,18 The issue concludes with a resident guide for minor skin cancer surgery.19

Overall, this issue is presented as a unique collection of engaging oncological content for our readers, and we are incredibly excited to present it. The JCAS aims to achieve its first impact factor, and we hope that our authors and readers will continue to support the journal with enthusiasm. The journal will also continue its efforts to serve the dermatosurgical and esthetic surgery fraternity.
